Hanukkah Celebration 2023!
$10.00 – $20.00
Sunday, December 10 – 7-10pm (BKCM Concert Hall)
Join us on December 10th at 7pm for a packed evening of Hanukkah celebration! We’re so excited to be partnering with The Neighborhood: An Urban Center for Jewish Life to bring our annual Hanukkah party back to BKCM.
In the Concert Hall, the Klezmer Big Band of Light kicks off the party. Featuring klezmer luminaries Sarah Gordon, Aani Kisslinger, Sam Day Harmet, Eleonore Weill, Eleonore Oppenheimer, Aaron Alexander and Ira Khonen Temple, this Hanukkah Klezmer Big Band of Light brings flashy and lustrous melodies for dancing and singing along to. This band is as intimate and homey as it is wildly fun and energized. Including a special guest appearance by the Brooklyn Conservatory Klezmer Community Band!
At 9pm, Y&I, with Yula Beeri and Isaac Gardner will take the stage embedding their music with the soulful voices of the Vocal trio INDIGA! About INDIGA: Love has no boundaries, love is a universal language. This is how Indiga was born; a vocal project using melodies and harmonies to explore the subject of love and its different expressions through the lyrical sense of Song of Songs.
Upstairs in our studios you’ll find Hanukkah karaoke, latkes and a coloring room for kids. There will be a cash bar with adult beverages available for purchase. This year’s Hanukkah party is bigger and better than ever – you won’t want to miss it. Purchase your tickets below before they’re gone!
Description
Brooklyn based duo Y&I formed in 2019.
Y stands for Yuli Beeri, Tel Aviv-born musical chameleon, composer and multi-instrumentalist. She started as a young actor & model in Tel Aviv, and quickly realized her true calling was music. She moved to NYC, and has been a driving force in the Brooklyn art scene ever since.
I stands for Isaac Gardner, Mississippi-born actor and drummer. He moved to NYC in 2006 to perform in Blue Man Group where he met Y in the theatre lobby. They’ve been playing music together since 2009.
In their short lifespan, Y&I has had the opportunity to play in many notable venues (Fotografiska, NYC, Sideshow at Coney Island, Suzanne Delal in Tel Aviv, Opening Night for the Rockwood Music Hall’s 15 Year Celebration) as well as high-end events (Fashion Snoops at Scandinavia House, Israeli Artists Project at the Triad Theater, the Queensboro Dance Festival, and WeWork).
