Set I – Kristen Slipp and Dov Manski

Slipp and Manski’s one and only recording, A Thousand Julys, presents their the pair’s unconventional take on compositions made famous in the golden age of vocal jazz recordings. The pair are  “…co-conspirators in a startlingly refreshing reexamination of these 12 classic tunes, boldly challenging the relative complacency of most previous interpretations.” (JazzTimes.)

Manski, a fixture in the New York City jazz scene, and Slipp, a current member of indie darlings Dirty Projectors, found a common bond in one another while students at the New England Conservatory. Over the past decade they’ve honed a sound unique to them, built on the touchstone pop songs of the 30s and 40s.

Set II – Editrix

Steve Cameron – bass
Josh Daniel – drums
Wendy Eisenberg – guitar and voice
