WALK-INs ARE WELCOME
SESSION 1: 3-3:30pm
Meet the Woodwinds will be a fun and interactive program for all ages; this program is perfect for beginner music students.
The event will include a short performance, an interactive portion, a Q&A and an instrument petting zoo!
SESSION 2: 4-5pm
From 4 – 5pm, BKCM will host a Woodwinds Open House. Students ages 9 and up can sign up for a free 5-minute woodwind lesson.
Capacity is limited, so get your tickets while they last. Each ticket is valid for 1 child and up to 2 adults.
Want to meet even more instruments? From now through March, we’ll be holding sessions for flute, bass, voice and guitar. See below for upcoming dates.

Sun. January 15 – Meet the Flute, 2:40 – 3:10pm
Tuesday, January 17 – Meet the Bass, 5:30 – 6:00pm
Sat. February 25 – Meet the Voice, 3 – 3:30pm; 4 – 5pm – Voice Open House (free 5-minute lessons for students ages 8 and up)
Sun. March 5th – Meet the Guitar, 2:40 – 3:10pm
Sun. March 26 – Meet the Flute/Bass, 2:40 – 3:10pm

Fabio Rojas is a Drummer/Film Composer and Educator based in NYC, originally from Valencia, Venezuela. On October 15 his quintet will be performing original compositions blending different trends and presenting some modern jazz as part of the new generation of artists, combining elements from the past, and always exploring the future with innovations.
This performance will feature Greg Osby on alto sax, Kevin Harris on piano, Gustavo D’Amico on tenor sax, Fabio Rojas on the drums, and Osmar Okuma on bass, which will make this concert an exhilarating and exploratory experience for the public. www.FabioRojasMusic.com
Fabio Rojas is one of 3,000 New York City-based artists to receive $5,000 through the City Artist Corps Grants program, presented by The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA), with support from the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) as well as Queens Theatre. This concert will be part of the award program.

- Children under 12 must present a negative COVID test done within 7 days prior to the event.
- Mask wearing will be required for all audience members throughout the concert.
- Tickets will be free and general admission. First come, first served.

Shape Shifting: CMTE Virtual Guitar Workshop

Music therapists are invited to this virtual CMTE workshop presented by licensed creative arts therapist and certified Nordoff-Robbins music therapist David Herman (MA, LCAT, NRMT). Participants will be guided through one-finger, two-finger, and three-finger improvisation exercises and will be led as a group in modal playing using the ‘Shape Shifting’ technique.
