Get your tickets now for Open Stages 2023, BKCM’s spring music festival! On May 13, stoops, schoolyards, parks and local cafes throughout Park Slope will host 150+ inspiring artists sure to amaze families. Past acts have included Grammy Award-winners, talented teen rockers, high-octane marching bands, hip-hop artists, and music-makers of all kinds. And after a day of exploring the festival, families are invited to join BKCM from 7-8 pm for one massive celebratory closing concert.

Last year, BKCM’s FREE festival rocked Park Slope on Saturday, May 21st, 2022. Click here to read the post-event e-blast from last year’s festival and click here to see our Flickr with photos from the day.

Throwback To Last Year

Our Performers

Stoops, school lots, parks, gardens and sidewalks will host more than 150 musicians throughout the day, including classical musicians, marching bands, kids groups, and so much more. The first four artists have been revealed below. Who else will be joining the 2023 lineup? Check back soon to find out!

Bachtopus

It has eight arms and is an incredibly sensitive and intelligent organism. But it doesn’t live at the bottom of the ocean, it’s from Brooklyn! Bachtopus is an accordion quartet focusing on the music of J.S. Bach, traditional music, and contemporary music from around the world.

Ajada Reigns

Born in NYC, Ajada Reigns is one of the smoothest soul and RnB vocalists you can find. When she’s not on the road performing with Chaka Khan, Mary J Blige, and Vic Mensa, she develops her own blend of positive vocal artistry.

Jonathan Michel

You’ve seen him at BKCM with such artists as Tahira Clayton, Vuyo Sotashe and more, now Jonathan Michel steps into the center stage with his trio, delving into the historical nuances of Black American music and his Haitian roots. “My Haitian culture is a part of me, so it’s always welcome as a talking point.”

Leila Bordreuil

In partnership with Issue Project Room, BKCM is proud to present Leila Bordreuil. Leila is a Brooklyn-based cellist who pushes the limits of the instrument through extended techniques and unorthodox amplification methods, often using the sounds of the world around her.
