This year’s benefit will take place over the course of a two-week Practice-a-thon starting February 27, 2022 and culminate on April 2, 2022 (rescheduled from March 12) with an in-person celebration. As always, there will be music, games and a chance to gather with the Suzuki community.

Each year, our teachers strive to identify new sources of motivation and inspiration for our students. It is our hope that our students will find a new wave of momentum knowing that their efforts will be of service to others, by raising financial assistance for fellow students through our second annual Practice-a-thon.

The Practice-a-thon will culminate in the Suzuki Benefit…happening on Saturday, April 2 (2-4pm), celebrating students’ hard work in practicing and their efforts to raise funds. 100% of funds raised at the Suzuki Benefit will fund financial aid for the Suzuki program.

BKCM’s second annual Suzuki Practice-a-thon officially ended on Friday, March 11. Congratulations to our students for all of your hard work in practicing and raising funds for financial aid for BKCM’s Suzuki program. Your hours of practice have earned you ALL OF THE PERKS for the Benefit party taking place at the BKCM garden on Saturday, April 2! That includes two scoops of ice cream, pizza, a magician and a visit from party pup Rocky!

Your hard work also earned you LIVE MUSIC! Sterling Strings will perform for Suzuki families at the Benefit celebration. Composed of Black classically-trained string musicians, Sterling Strings pushes the boundaries of what a string quartet can do with their electric repertoire and fiery interpretations. Sterling Strings has performed at venues across NYC including Joe’s Pub, Jazz at Lincoln Center and Madison Square Garden. Learn more about Sterling Strings here.

While the practicing part of our annual fundraiser might be over, you can still help BKCM raise funds for scholarships and financial aid for the Suzuki program by making a donation or purchasing a raffle ticket. Raffle prizes include:

• A party in the BKCM Garden
• A free week of BKCM Summer Camp
• 4 day passes to The Cliffs Gowanus
• 1 store activity or counselor-led craft at CAMP
