Brooklyn Conservatory of Music is excited to partner again with People’s Theater Project who have performed at our World Refugee Day event for the past two years.

The year is 3050. A group of immigrants have sparked revolution in the Nation, a dystopia where assimilation was forced. Hearing the collective voice of the people, Doña Mañana—one of the revolutionaries and now the first female, Afro-Latina president—and her team set out on a quest to dismantle the system and bring full liberation to the people.

We accept all vaccination cards or virtual cards from the Excelsior App. In order to enter the Theater for this event, final dose of vaccination must be taken 2 weeks before the performance date. Fabio Rojas is a Drummer/Film Composer and Educator based in NYC, originally from Valencia, Venezuela. On October 15 his quintet will be performing original compositions blending different trends and presenting some modern jazz as part of the new generation of artists, combining elements from the past, and always exploring the future with innovations.

Fabio Rojas is one of 3,000 New York City-based artists to receive $5,000 through the City Artist Corps Grants program, presented by The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA), with support from the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) as well as Queens Theatre. This concert will be part of the award program.

Young Kids Kwanzaa Sing-along Performance at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum (145 Brooklyn Ave, Brooklyn, NY)

The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music is partnering with Brooklyn Children’s Museum to present concerts for your little ones where they will learn songs celebrating the principles of Kwanzaa. These performances are led by Annie Lee Moffett. The performance includes a new piece written by Annie to the poem “Still I Rise” by Maya Angelou. Accompanying Moffett will be Mamiko Watanabe.
Tickets for this event can be found through the Brooklyn Children’s Museum website and are included in the museum ticket. There will be two performances, one in the morning shift from 12:00pm-12:25pm and one in the afternoon from 2:30pm-2:55pm.
