Chamber Music Workshop (for Adults 18+)

Sunday May 1, 2016 @ 9:00 am

$100 - $125

The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music will offer a chamber music workshop for adults led by BKCM faculty Michael Rose (piano) and David Wechsler (flute) and guest faculty David Yang (viola).

The full-day workshop will include 2.5 hours of coaching in a small ensemble, 2.5 hours of rehearsal and a public performance.

The workshop will offer to participants opportunities to…

  • Improve musicianship by playing in a small ensemble
  • Receive high quality chamber music instruction
  • Learn more about the classical chamber repertoire
  • Perform chamber music works in front of a live audience

Workshop repertoire will be selected from the baroque, classical, and romantic literatures and will be for duos, trios, quartets and quintets. Students will be given their assigned works by March 31, to learn, study, and practice the pieces in advance.

Anyone 18 and older is eligible to apply, although exceptions may be made if there are high school students who are at an advanced level. Students can rate themselves based on the Associated Chamber Music Players self-rating system.

If you are interested in attending the chamber music workshop, please fill out the registration form and purchase your ticket online.

APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO APRIL 1, 2016.

FINANCIAL AID: Partial scholarships will be offered to students facing financial difficulties.
