Philosonia Presents ReCONNECT III: Home (RESCHEDULED – New Date: April 16, 2022)

From October to May, 2021, Brooklyn Conservatory of Music will be hosting four programs presented by PhiloSonia. PhiloSonia is an innovative chamber music series designed to create a personal connection between audience members and classical music.

Pianist Junie Cho in recital with cellist Isaac Casal

Two great virtuosos, pianist Junie Cho and cellist Isaac Casal, in recital at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. Returning to NY after a long absence, former Brooklyn Conservatory Artistic Director Junie Cho will be in recital with cellist Isaac Casal (brother of faculty member Luis Casal). The program will feature two world premieres by former Conservatory Curriculum Director Howard Lew, and also music by Ginastera, Lecuona, and Bolcom – a thrilling Pan-American program!General Admission: $20

Pianist Milad Yousufi in Concert

Milad Yousufi was born in 1995 during the civil war in Afghanistan. At that time, Afghanistan was under Taliban rule, and music was completely banned. At the age of two he started drawing. He drew the piano keys on paper and pretended to play.
Milad Yousufi is a pianist, composer, conductor, poet, singer, painter and calligrapher. Yousufi’s work is deeply inspired by his country and culture.
Milad Yousufi will be playing a series of short piano suites for about 45 minutes, based on a few chapters of his life. The piano suites are 7 movements.
