Tierra Mestiza
Tierra Mestiza is an ecletic duo that started in 2012. They play a mix of original music, folk music and improvised music. Some of the composers they explore are Chico, Buarque, Mario Ruiz Armengol, & Carla Bley to name a few.

“The music of Tierra Mestiza is haunting, dream-like, floating, unsettling yet somewhat calm. This duo works well together, slowly weaving their lines into an unpredictable tapestry. At times they start heading to the outer regions yet always seems to end up in a familiar raft drifting together. ” – Bruce Lee Gallanter, DMG, NYC

Trumpets and Basses
Trumpets and Basses is a collective ensemble featuring three trumpets (Danny Gouker, Jake Henry, Kenny Warren) and three basses (Adam Hopkins, Will McEvoy, Zach Swanson). The group originated from a one-time, completely improvised performance at Out of Your Head, Brooklyn in March of 2015 that seemed to feature a foolish and unwieldy lineup, but yielded a surprisingly beautiful and energetic performance. One year later, in April 2016, the group recorded on location at a church in Ft. Green, Brooklyn, resulting in “Sanctuary” released on pfMENTUM in the fall of 2017. Performances build a whirlwind of momentum by leveraging the ample and stark intersections possible within the ensemble: between trumpets and basses, trumpets and trumpets, basses and basses, and the vast permutations between six highly individual improvisers.
