Parlour Room Sessions – Alice Jones, flute | Anneke Schaul-Yoder, cello | Derin Öge, piano

Saturday March 16 @ 5:30 pm

$10.00 – $15.00

Known for their colorful and nuanced performances of new compositions and traditional repertoire, this trio of charismatic performers engages audiences with equal parts laughter and sensitivity.

Join them for a dive into the haiku of 17th-century Japanese poet Basho, set imaginatively by Michael Fiday, and a work from the “Female Beethoven” — one of the highest markers of praise in the 19th century for a female French composer — Louise Farrenc’s Trio, Op. 45. She’s a formidable musician whose works stand on their own merit, no comparisons to Beethoven needed!

Parlour room (n), from French parler (to talk or speak) – a room for conversation, debate, or receiving an audience

Classical music has traditionally been an intimate experience, a gathering of friends as a way to pass an evening filled with laughter, entertaining stories, and captivating sounds. We welcome you into our parlour room at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music to learn about new and classic works and indulge in the intimacy of great music making. Bring your curiosity!

All concerts begin at 5:30pm and include a complimentary reception.
