“INCLUDEnyc – Who We Are” with Family Educator Melinda Burke

Family educator Melinda Burke will be presenting “INCLUDEnyc – Who We Are”, a presentation on INCLUDEnyc, an organization creating equity and access for young people with disabilities through all boroughs in NYC. They are the leading source of training and information for young people ages 0-26 with known or suspected disabilities, their parents, and the professionals who support them. Melinda will share in-depth the mission, services, and resources available through INCLUDEnyc, followed by a Q&A portion to answer any questions parents may have. “INCLUDEnyc Talk with Melinda Burke: Working With and Through Your Child’s Behaviors
Monday, February 13, 2023 — 6:30 – 8PM (VIRTUAL)
Melinda Burke, a family educator at INCLUDEnyc and founding member of The Bench – BKCM’s very own Music Therapy Parent Support Collective, returns in February with a short presentation about working with and through your child’s behaviors. The discussion will include the basics of the Pyramid Model (the most often used model in special education schools across NYC) and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and how to use these methodologies at home and in the community. The presentation will be followed by an open discussion/Q&A where parents can ask questions and share any solutions/tips with one another.

Save the Date! The BKCM 2023 Suzuki Benefit & Practice-a-thon: A month-long challenge (January 8 – February 4, 2023) to practice and help raise funds for financial aid, culminating with an in-person celebration on Sunday, February 5, 2023. All ages, levels, and instruments are welcome to participate!
Lobby and coat room open at 3:30pm for instrument drop-off.
