Sound Baths are sonic meditations based on the premise that we listen with all the senses and that optimal well-being and balance is available to everyone through the act of deep listening. Sound Baths incorporate a variety of resonant drone instruments such as Himalayan singing bowls, crystal singing bowls, monochords, shruti boxes, hand pans, percussion of different varieties and of course, the human voice.  One of the key aspects of sound baths is the musical drone – a continual sound (tonal or rhythmic), that when played with therapeutic intention, can stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system allowing the body to Rest, Digest, and Recover. Sound Baths help us to access an alpha-theta brain wave state where potent imagery and energetic release can occur. Participants lie down on yoga mats, with blankets and light-weight meditation eye masks are provided. The sound bath begins with a guided meditation and runs anywhere from an hour to 90 minutes.  As we listen and engage in our sonic world we can begin to deepen the practice of mutual understanding and unconditional positive regard for all.
