No student will be turned away due to financial need.

Brooklyn Band Academy begins February 5 with virtual private lessons!
With our primary concern being the safety of our students, we will start our program with virtual instruction during the month of February. Virtual lessons will be offered on four Saturdays: February 5, 12, 19 and 26.
The Academy will open doors for in person programming on March 5 at St. Francis de Sales School for the Deaf, 260 Eastern Pkwy, Brooklyn, NY 11225.
Saturdays 1pm – 4pm, March 5 – June 18, 2022
Due to the delayed in person start date we will be adjusting tuition for Brooklyn Band Academy to $385 + $35 registration fee (virtual lessons through February will be free of cost).
We encourage families to fill out a financial aid application due by February 19.
The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music’s (BKCM) Music Partners program offers Brooklyn Band Academy for all current and past intermediate level Music Partners band students in 4th through 8th grades. NYC students with one or more years experience on their instrument are welcome to apply. The Band Academy offers group classes, small ensembles, full band rehearsals and optional music production classes online during the week. A high faculty-to-student ratio allows for coaching within the ensembles and mentoring activities.
Students will have an opportunity to find their community and deepen their musical practice right here in Brooklyn!

The Brooklyn Band Academy brings together students who have participated in Music Partners programs throughout Brooklyn. Working with our first rate teaching artists, students will continue study of their instrument, and will explore film composing, digital music games, and go on virtual field trips to learn about different careers in music.
Students from neighborhoods in the vicinity of St. Francis de Sales and beyond (Crown Heights, Prospect Heights, Fort Greene, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brownsville, East New York, Cypress Hills) are encouraged to apply, particularly those who studied music in elementary school but whose middle schools do not offer music programs. No student will be turned away due to financial constraints.
Students must have a minimum of one year experience on their instrument, and get to share their creative energy and team spirit each week.
