Project Info
Project Description
Schedule: Saturdays at 10:45am
In addition to private lessons, playing in an ensemble with other strings is essential for students to focus on sound production, sight-reading, tuning, rhythm and setup of the instrument. Young players develop their bow technique, expression and dynamics in a fun group experience. Students will learn to read basic rhythmic values and patterns and play as an ensemble.
This beginner string ensemble is appropriate for students who have had at least one year of lessons. Students should be able to play and understand the notation for a one octave D major scale. Please speak with your teacher to see if this ensemble is right for you. Students who are not attending lessons at BKCM please contact the CMS Administrative team at cmsadmin@bkcm.org to set up a placement interview.
