Summer Sound Bytes

For students enrolled in individual adaptive lessons and group classes, our remote Summer Sound Bytes classes provide an opportunity to practice musical skills in a group context. Groups are led by music educators with degrees in music therapy and focus on enhancing the musical skills and experiences gained through our regular program. Summer Sound Bytes classes are open to all students currently enrolled in individual adaptive lessons and group classes.

Color in Music

COLOR in Music! Let's explore how composers have created color through sound....students will discover their music and its connections to visual arts, poetry, and dance.


Based on our popular Piano Friends classes, this online camp offers a fun, interactive approach to learning piano in small groups of 4-6 students. Our engaging curriculum will have students reading and playing music in no time, with access to online videos and materials to practice at home.

Make Your Own Instrument

Using materials found in their own homes, children will create musical instruments and make music together!

Yoga for Young Musicians

With stories created around the Suzuki book 1 repertoire, children ages 3 - 6 will sing, move and experience the pieces in their bodies before learning them on their instruments.

Indian Rhythm Workshop

Konnakol, Bols, and Spoken Rhythms - an introduction to the Vocal Rhythm Systems of North and South India!

Dr. Suzuki’s World of Composers

We cover a different composer each week from our Suzuki repertoire and learn all about them.


A unique experience melding visual art and music. Students will travel from the Middle Ages through the Contemporary period, learning how to identify music and art from each era, all while having a great time!

Violin Friends

In level 1, students learn how to hold the violin, plucking, posture and an introduction to the bow. Essential musicianship skills such as reading notation, singing, improvisation and composition are part of every class. This basic introduction to the violin will prepare students for Violin friends level 2 where students continue to develop the basic music skills and techniques necessary for violin performance.

Music Theory I, II

Our newest offering at BKCM, a series of classes designed to supplement private lessons with a modern, active approach to music theory that engages students in listening, improvisation and composition.
