Andrea has been a conservatory student and chorus member since 1993, and Board member since 1995. Her undergraduate work was in Mathematics and Philosophy at MIT and she earned an MBA from Columbia University. Her professional work has included teaching mathematics in the South in the late 60’s and many years in insurance, banking and consulting. In 1995 when the Conservatory was having severe leadership problems, she joined with the goal of convincing the Board to clean house. She hoped that her organizational experience in systems and her direct knowledge, as a Conservatory student and the wife and mother of Conservatory students would be useful. Her experiences as a Board member have included changing light bulbs, reupholstering piano benches and serving as secretary for 12 years.
