Josh Sinton

Saxophonist/clarinetist/composer Josh Sinton is probably best known as the leader of Ideal Bread, the Steve Lacy repertory band. In addition to playing regularly with Andrew D’Angelo’s DNA big band and Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society he also performs frequently with the Nate Wooley Quintet. He received a Bachelors degree in music with honors from the University of Chicago and a Masters degree in jazz performance with honors from the New England Conservatory. He has studied with Steve Lacy, Ran Blake, Ari Brown, Ken Vandermark, Jerry Bergonzi and Dominique Eade, amongst others. He has shared stages with Matana Roberts, Vernon Reid, Michael Buble, Roswell Rudd and Matt Wilson. He lives in Brooklyn, New York with his wife Laura and daughter Zosia for whom he loves to cook and can often be found performing at the Douglass Street Music Collective.
