Michele Horner


Michele Horner is a native of Cos Cob, CT. She has garnered national and international attention for her innovative and engaging teaching style. She has been a featured clinician at Suzuki Institutes and workshops throughout the U.S. and Canada including the first-ever International Suzuki Guitar Festival in 2008 and at the 15th Suzuki World Convention in Melbourne, Australia in 2009. Michele’s guitar students were one of only four American groups selected by audition to perform a featured concert at the 14th Suzuki World Convention in Torino, Italy in 2006. In addition to teaching Suzuki Guitar, Michele created an Interactive Journey through Art and Music (IJAM). IJAM covers 1200 years of art and music history in a fun and engaging workshop making connections between visual art and music blended with movement and creative activities. Michele is a graduate of Penn State University where she still holds two school records in field hockey goalkeeping. Her principal guitar teachers have been Kevin Gallagher and Frederic Hand. She has completed Suzuki Guitar Teacher Training through Book 9 with Bill Kossler, Frank Longay and David Madsen.
