Zinovy Weinstein was born and raised in the center of Russia (former USSR). In the 60s through the 70s, Mr. Weinstein studied with Alexander Franck and Leonid Brumberg, great teachers in the history of the Russian Piano School. Zinovy inherited a deep appreciation of music, impeccable sense of professionalism combined with a keen and focused mind. Zinovy Weinstein holds a Bachelor and Master’s in Piano Performance from UFA Institute of Arts (graduating magna cum laude). His desire to experience a variety of aspects of art led him to St.Petersburg Academy of Theatrical Art. In 1988 he graduated with distinction. In Russia Mr. Weinstein enjoyed a respected bright music career. He successfully combined his activity as a soloist and accompanist with an extensive teaching studio. Among his pupils at that time was a future winner of many International Piano Competitions, Yakov Kasman, broadly well known in the world as an interpreter of Russian piano music. Mr. Weinstein immigrated to the USA in 1996 and was granted American citizenship in 2003. Zinovy Weinstein brought his outstanding piano experience to the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music where he has been teaching for more than 10 years, an esteemed member of the classical piano faculty.
