Born in Krakow, Poland, violinist Anna Majcherczyk graduated with honors from the Music Academy in Krakow and the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. Within the framework of “Socrates-Erasmus” Scholarship, she studied at the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg. As concertmaster of the Krakow Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, she made her debut as a soloist with this orchestra at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. As a member of various ensembles, she has performed in prestigious concert halls such as the Musikvereinsaal in Vienna, the Berliner Philharmonie, Tonhalle Zürich and Paul Hall at the Juilliard School. Anna has participated in master classes given by Thomas Brandis, Krzysztof Penderecki, Ralf Gothoni, Reiner Schmidt (Hagen Quartet) and Peter Goetzel and Volkhard Steude (Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra). She performs chamber and orchestral music, and serves as guest concertmaster at The Bronx Opera and The New York Repertory Orchestra. As an educator, Anna starts students under the Suzuki philosophy and pedagogy. She believes in the power of small steps and breaking up the difficulties into easier, “digestible” bits. Anna seeks to educate students in the way that they develop more refined feelings, appreciation for arts, joy of making music and self-confidence coming from doing things well.
