What is the “Studio Collective”?
At BKCM, our studios represent a place to unite as a collective; a place where connections are fostered and music echoes through the halls. As members of the Collective, you mold the community – forging an ecosystem of artists. The Studio Collective is a true exchange for creatives to share, converse, and collaborate.
Membership includes access to BKCM’s 17 practice studios – each home to a Steinway piano – for rent by musicians, writers, composers, and theater-makers. Membership is free! Level up your membership for additional perks including:

Located at our building in Park Slope, Brooklyn, our studios are available to rent starting at $10/hour through our online booking platform.

Thanks to generous support from Tito’s Handmade Vodka, we are reducing our studio rental rates for all our rehearsal studios at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music for the next year!
Our new rates for the 2024-25 school year are:
- Upright Piano Studios $10/hour
- Grand Piano Studios: $15/hour

We offer two different rental prices, depending on the size of the piano in the room:

Studio Rental Policies
- 🎶 Studio use: Our studios are for rehearsal only. Lessons/classes, workshops, photo/film shoots, events, and recording sessions are prohibited.
- 🎹 Studio care: Please restore the space when you leave: close and cover the piano, close the windows, dispose of any trash, and stack music stands and chairs.
- 🚫 Food and drinks: No food or drinks are allowed in the studios except for a water bottle with a lid.
- ❌ Cancellation: You can cancel your booking up to 48h in advance for a credit, which will automatically apply to your account.

Members and Friends can book space online up to two weeks in advance via our online booking platform. Stars can book up to three weeks in advance.
No, BKCM does not offer studio rentals on weekends during the academic year due to our educational programming. Limited weekend availability is offered during the summer months.
Our studios are equipped with a range of features, including full-length mirrors, whiteboards, music stands, chairs, guitar amps, and bass amps. You can find a detailed equipment list for each studio on our booking platform.

- Studios with a Guitar Amp: 30, 31, 32, 33, 40, 42, 43, 44, 50, and 54.
- Studios with a Bass Amp: 33, 41, 42, 43, and 54.
No, none of the studios available through the Studio Collective include drum kits.
You can reschedule or cancel your booking up to 48 hours in advance. A credit will be automatically added to your account and applied to your next booking.
