Toronto-born vocalist, pianist, and composer Julie Milgram brings warmth and creativity to her dual career as performer and educator. She studied voice and piano at Humber College and McGill University, where she developed the strong foundation that supports her eclectic musical style. Julie has performed widely in New York and across Canada, presenting her original “jazz-pop” music with her quintet and as part of a composer’s collective 10-piece jazz orchestra. Her work blends jazz tradition with contemporary songwriting, creating a distinctive sound that highlights her artistry as both composer and performer.
Equally dedicated to teaching, Julie works with students of all ages and levels on voice and piano. She incorporates composition into lessons to build fundamentals while encouraging individuality and creativity. She also emphasizes performance as a vital part of musical growth, helping students gain confidence and experience the joy of sharing music with others. At the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, Julie continues her mission of inspiring musicianship rooted in expression, collaboration, and community.
