The Academy Blues Project is a rock band based in New York City. The group’s eclectic music blends electric storytelling with elements of the namesake blues, power pop and classic soul. ABP’s latest studio releases are a trio of LPs, produced & released by the band at interval through ’21: The Neon Grotto, Once Again…, and prodigal sun.
The Academy Blues Project plays live often in NYC, the Northeast U.S. and beyond. ABP has performed at Musikfest, SteelStacks, The Kennedy Center, and Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAMCafé); & in-residence at dozens of clubs throughout the five boroughs, including Groove, Union Hall, and Joe’s Pub (where the band recorded their live album, Evil Mubla).
ABP’s adventurous live sets draw from a deep catalog of over 100 original songs and as many spontaneous, crate-digging covers, ranging from Allen Toussaint and The Band to The Little Mermaid and Emily King. In 14 years of performances, ABP have never featured the same live setlist twice.
“If you’re into psychedelic rock and you’re in New York right now, ABP should be at the top of your bucket list.” – New York Music Daily
