The Suzuki Program
The Suzuki program builds on the principle that if properly trained, all children can master music just as they can learn their mother tongue.
Since 2006, BKCM has offered families the chance to train in the Suzuki method: a nurturing pedagogy based on the concept that all children can master the language of music. We offer the study of violin, cello, bass, guitar, flute and piano.

The Suzuki Method
The Suzuki Method is recognized worldwide as a highly effective approach for teaching children the language of music. Generations of students have begun a lifelong journey of musical enrichment through this approach. The curriculum incorporates three elements that provide the essentials needed for instrumental music education: private lessons, theory classes and group classes. Parent involvement is an integral component of the Suzuki approach. Parents learn and practice alongside the child, functioning as role models and providing encouragement.
Suzuki Practice-A-Thon 2024
BKCM is committed to making music education and music education accessible for more students, including those interested in our Suzuki Program. And each year we have the Suzuki Practice-A-Thon and Suzuki Benefit. This year our Suzuki Practice-A-Thon is happening now to February 3 and culminates with the outdoor Suzuki Benefit on Sunday, February 4!
This period is a chance to not only encourage and celebrate our students for their admirable growth and unparalleled commitment. It also allows us to raise financial aid for the program, so that a wider range of students might experience the benefits of the Suzuki method.
The entire Suzuki program will work together this year to reach a $50,000 goal and 100% participation from our students! We’ll be tracking student participation with a Cooperative Sundae, and there are exciting perks at each level! The more participation, the better the party (and the more ice cream)!
