Andrew Aprile, Ph.D., is an early childhood teacher educator at The City College of New York (CCNY). Since 2008, he has taught early childhood music and world percussion, inspired by his musical travels in Africa and South America. He joined the Music Partners Faculty in 2024. Through his teaching and research, Dr. Aprile emphasizes responsive pedagogies that center on community and joyful participation in the arts. His research has appeared in the Arts Education Policy Review and the International Critical Childhood Policy Studies Journal and he has contributed chapters to Young Children and the Arts: Nurturing Imagination and Creativity and We Shall Overcome: Essays on a Great American Song.
