In this beginner guitar class, students learn how to strum chords, pick melodies and play simple songs on the guitar. The small class size ensures that each child receives some individual attention each week while learning how to care for the instrument and develop skills on the acoustic guitar. Students interact with both standard notation and guitar tablature to learn beginner guitar chords and melodies in a variety of genres and styles. At the end of each semester, students perform in a group recital, building confidence and performance skills.

*Students are required to purchase an appropriately sized acoustic guitar for this class. BKCM provides a starter guitar for students to use for their first two classes.
