Description
Learn about the voice and basics of singing, in a relaxed group setting. Designed to help students discover vocal technique through warm-up exercises and guided meditations that bring an awareness to the body in preparation for singing. This class will expand both singing and speaking voices through connection of mind, body and emotion.
The following topics will be explored:
- Breath Control and the Anatomy of the Voice
- Vocal Registers: Chest and Head Voice and everything in between
- Pitch, Tone and Singing With Other Voices: Harmonizing and Blending
- The Craft of Song: Expression and Elements of Style
These topics will be learned through a varied range of repertoire (songs) chosen by the instructor. This class performs (as a group) in a recital at the end of each term.
