BKCM Healthy & Safety Policy for Summer 2024

Vaccinations: As of September 2023, BKCM no longer requires proof of vaccination for entry to the building.

Masking: BKCM will continue to remain a masks-optional space for all who are vaccinated.

Building Waiting Spaces, i.e. Lobby and Landings: BKCM will continue to ask that our indoor waiting spaces including the lobby and landings remain clear during the early fall. There will be no congregating in waiting areas except for special circumstances , e.g. aides / family members for Music Therapy clients with specified needs, parents who attend studios classes, etc. Parents and caretakers may come into the building to drop off and pick up students. Our garden, which we activated in Oct 2020 to help facilitate the reopening of the school – has tents, lighting, heat, WiFi, tables and chairs. Many of our families take advantage of the garden as a gathering space while family members or those they are caring for are in the building. We will reexamine this policy at the end of October and as the weather changes.

If You’re Sick, Stay Home! Please do not come to the Conservatory if you’re sick, even if you’ve tested negative for Covid-19! It takes everyone doing their part to keep our community safe and healthy. Staying home when you’re sick helps prevent the spread of illness to everyone in our community including our faculty, staff, students, and clients.

For community members who test positive for COVID-19, we will continue to use CDC guidelines as the basis for our policies for isolation, masking, and returning to the building for lessons and classes.

Our team will continue to monitor the landscape surrounding Covid-19. Should the need arise, BKCM reserves the right to change these policies at any time throughout the school year taking into consideration changes in CDC recommendations, local policy, case numbers, etc. Any changes to policy will be communicated via email from our administrative team, and updated on our website.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and care with our Covid-19 policies. As always, our team will continue to monitor the changing landscape surrounding Covid, and will keep our community updated on any additional guidance on anticipated changes as we enter the cooler months.

We’re grateful for your commitment to music education and music therapy and we can’t wait to see you all in September. Keep practicing, and take care until then!
