Anthony Pearlman, is a pianist, composer, and improviser from Los Angeles, California. Anthony has a Bachelor’s degree from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, and he has had the honor of working under the guidance of master musicians such as Reggie Workman and Andrew Cyrille. Now, six years post graduation, he regularly plays at notable venues locally and abroad. More recently, Anthony has expanded his scope of work to include playing for dance and movement. Some notable studios he frequents are Mark Morris Dance Group, Gibney Dance, NYTB, and The New School. With influences that range from Thelonious Monk and Ornette Coleman, to Ryuchi Sakamoto and Alexander Scriabin, Anthony has crafted a clear voice and artistic vision over the past 15+ years centered around patience, space, surprise, tradition, and developmental improvisation; skills that set him apart from others within his field, and give him the ability to bring his personality to any musical situation, regardless of genre.
