Christine Cornell is a musician, actor and music educator. She is currently the chair of the Community Music School’s Vocal Department and the co-director of Brooklyn Harmonics Vocal Program (Tweens, Teens and Twenty+) with her long-time collaborator, Broadway music director and arranger, Jeffrey Klitz. She has a background in Classical Voice training from Indiana University Jacobs’ School of Music and Manhattan School of Music. Christine is a multi-genre artist whose performance highlights include guest artist for Sound Symphony in Long Island performing works by Puccini, Gershwin, Lehar, and Mozart under the batons of Dorothy Savitch and Alex Wen and performed a multi-city concert series in Italy with Ghostlight Chorus (music director Dr. Evelyn Troester DeGraf). She was a featured artist for Erik Carlson’s Slowly Expanding Milton Babbitt album (Three Theatrical Songs). She made her film music debut in Alex Weston’s original score for What Breaks the Ice (Released October 2021). Some other favorite performances include: The Most Happy Fella (Goodspeed), The Sound of Music (Paper Mill Playhouse, Sacred Heart), Master Class (Gulf Shore Playhouse) and Four Saints in Three Acts (BAM). As a teacher, Christine focuses on solid technique and vocal health throughout amplified and unamplified styles of singing. In lessons with Christine, students can expect to learn repertoire that they enjoy while strengthening their individualized instruments and performance practices.
