Heather Ewer has been enamored with the tuba for many years and teaching private music lessons on the trombone, euphonium, and tuba has been both her longest held and her favorite job. Heather grew up in a musical family outside of Denver, Colorado, the daughter of a percussionist and a bassist. Heather and her twin trumpet player brother both trained to be band directors, following in their music educator mother’s footsteps.

In addition to private lessons, Heather also teaches middle school music, and loves to get middle schoolers excited about being in an ensemble. She also plays in several ensembles around the city herself, as a sought after sousaphone player in the brass band scene, playing for Brass by the Slice, Brass Queens, Brooklyn Delta Jazz Party, New Heights Brass Band and the L Train Brass Band which she has also music directed for two years. Heather also plays classical tuba in brass quintets, orchestras, and concert bands in the area, including eGaliterian, Brass in the Bandshell, and the Protestra. She has also played trombone in the brass band scene, and is a talented arranger who enjoys arranging music for her private lesson students.
