Ruby Farmer is a bassist and guitarist from Brooklyn, NY. She credits BKCM for her early music education, beginning in the Suzuki classical guitar program from ages 4 to 16 and later finding her love for the bass through the BKCM jazz program. Since then, she has shared the stage with Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra, Sean Jones, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Houston Person, and Kandace Springs, playing at venues such as Carnegie Hall and Royal Albert Hall. Most recently, she led her jazz quintet for Dizzy’s Club Late Night Sessions at Jazz at Lincoln Center. She is currently studying at Columbia University.
