About Stephanie Peña

Stephanie Peña, a choreographer, dance educator and performer. She earned an MFA in Choreography at the University of Roehampton in London, UK.  She has shown her work in London, New York and Switzerland. She recently has been awarded for the CUNY Dance Initiative 2024-2025 to create a new work “Pajón con agua” and it was showcased in March 2025. She has performed at Jacob’s Pillow, New York Live Arts, MIT, The High Line and many other venues. She is currently teaching Contemporary and Latin Social Dances such as Merengue, Bachata and Salsa to children K-12 at public schools, senior centers and community centers through Dancewave and Dance Parade Outreach Program. She is also a dance professor at Hostos Community College teaching Black and Puerto Rican Dance. She was featured in The New York Times teaching All Age Merengue, Bachata and Salsa classes at Little Island. Peña continues to grow by collaborating with dance artists and inspiring others to move their bodies.
