Victoria is a board-certified music therapist and licensed creative arts therapist who enjoys incorporating play, songwriting and music performance into her work with children with neurodivergence, social and behavioral challenges. Victoria holds a B.S. in Applied Psychology from New York University and a Master’s in Music Therapy from New York University, as well, where she first began to develop her creative and playful approach to group music therapy. Victoria offers a variety of musical tools to co-create spontaneous moments of joyful connection in her group music therapy work. Victoria utilizes humanistic and resource-oriented approaches to music therapy, taking musical inspiration from her formative exposure to the Nordoff-Robbins approach while at NYU. Prior to arriving at BKCM, Victoria worked with male juvenile offender youth in the Bronx, focusing on songwriting and music recording/production as a path towards growth in music therapy sessions. Victoria also has experience working with teens and adults struggling with acute mental health challenges. Overall, Victoria aspires to create a fun and empowering environment, inviting each client to tap into their inner diva or rock star and let their uniquely beautiful lights shine.
