Who is this Workshop for?
- This workshop is open to anyone age 12 and above who wants to experience the joys of playing chamber music, including adults. Workshop attendees will receive coachings throughout the week and will participate in both a mid-week and a Friday performance.
Applications for the BKCM Summer Chamber Workshop are by video submission (smartphone is recommended) and reviewed on a rolling basis. As applications are received and strong groupings become apparent, chamber groups are formed, with music being distributed on an ongoing basis.
Applications will be accepted until the workshop is full or through July 12, whichever comes first. Late applications will be considered based on group suitability and space.
Later applications are welcome, provided attendees have sufficient time to learn the assigned music before the start of the workshop.
The BKCM Summer Chamber Workshop will group based on experience and proficiency.
As part of your application to the BKCM Summer Chamber Workshop, you will be required to upload a video. Using any smartphone device, please film yourself playing:
- One 2-3 octave scale of your choice, and accompanying arpeggio
- One 2-4 minute piece of your choice that is an example of your skill and artistry
In most cases videos will be used to help us place you in an appropriate group, however in some instances we may suggest that you wait a year before attending the workshop, or attend one of our other outstanding BKCM camps. In some cases, a callback audition with reading may be required.
