Application Instructions

  • These forms must be completed by a Parent/Guardian of the student attending Camp.
  • You must record a short audition video on your smartphone device and upload it with this application (see below for details).
  • After you have completed the form below, your application will be reviewed. If accepted, we will contact you with a link to pay tuition and register for the camp.
  • If you have more than one camper, please fill out a separate form for each student.
  • Please note: In order to support student learning, parents/guardians of 5 and 6 year olds must be able to stay with their child for the morning Masterclass session. Parents of students age 7 and older are welcome to stay for the Masterclass or drop their student off.

Suzuki Camp is open to any child ages 5–11 who is currently playing at the Pre-Twinkle level through Book 4 and has been studying with a Suzuki teacher through the Suzuki method for at least one school year.

You will be required to upload a video of your child playing a piece from the Suzuki repertoire.  Please limit the video to less than 2 minutes. We recommend using a smartphone to record your video. If you have any issues, please email summercamp@bkcm.orgVideos will be used to help us place your child, and in some instances we may suggest that your child waits a year before attending the camp, or attends one of our other outstanding BKCM camps.

For students who haven’t had this kind of Suzuki experience—or who are newer to their instrument or learning primarily through note-reading—this particular week may feel fast-paced or frustrating. We want every child to feel confident and inspired, so if you’re unsure whether it’s the right fit, we’re happy to talk it through with you.

Thank you for applying to the BKCM Suzuki Summer Camp. If you have any issues with the form below or submitting your video, please email summercamp@bkcm.org

Please note: In order to support student learning, parents/guardians of 5 and 6 year olds must be able to stay with their child for the morning Masterclass session. Parents of students age 7 and older are welcome to stay for the Masterclass or drop their student off.

In rare cases where a child is unable to participate safely or constructively, families may be contacted to pick up their child early, or collaborate with us on a modified daily schedule.

If you are applying for financial aid, please complete the financial aid application first. If you have any questions, please email kris.mandapat@bkcm.org.

If you have any questions or run into any trouble completing the form, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at summercamp@bkcm.org.
