Brian Thompson

Violin, Viola

Brian Thompson has been playing the violin and later viola since the age of 7, completing an MM in performance on viola at The Conservatory of Music at Brooklyn College under Stephanie Griffin. Today he freelances the rich and varied New York music scene, actively seeking a wide range of musical experience, from the classical and operatic standards to explorations in musical theater and new music.

Ever seeking opportunities to collaborate with fellow artists, he has premiered solo, chamber, and orchestral works by emerging composers and has performed in an eclectic variety of recording projects in genres ranging from orchestral, operatic and film to folk, pop and rock.

In addition to performing, Brian is eager to share his love of music with the next generation, teaching students of all levels on both violin and viola.
