Michele Temple

Guitarist/electric bassist Michele Temple started life in Ohio where she received a BA in Music Theory (Ashland University) and an MA in Musicology (Cleveland State University). In addition to teaching, Michele gigs around the city as a free lancer, as well as with several groups including Little Horses (raw world music) and Le Garage Cabaret featuring accordianist Marni Rice. Michele has also recorded and toured with avante rockers Pere Ubu since 1993. At her project studio, Urban Iguana Productions, Michele composes and produces bands, singers, and instrumentalists. She is also a part of the Jettsonz (Nina Sky) production team, playing guitar and bass. Michele is an author having written an award-winning monograph entitled Middle Eastern Influences on Late Medieval Italian Dances. In addition to the Brooklyn Conservatory, Michele teaches at other music and private schools around the city. She numbers among her former students multi Grammy winning artist Alicia Keys.
