Few people know that I… haven’t owned a car since 1993.

Personal Teaching Statement: Practicing music is exercise for the brain and the soul.

Biography: Roger Lent is a versatile, seasoned jazz musician at home with the piano and the trumpet. He is based in New York and has performed throughout North America and many European countries. He has appeared at Jazz@Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, The Montreal Jazz Festival, The Ottawa Jazz Festival, The Aspen Jazz Festival, The Edinburgh Jazz Festival, Ronnie Scotts in London and major jazz clubs and performing arts centers around the United States.

Roger earned a bachelor’s degree in music at the University of North Texas and a master’s degree in music at Rutgers University with full scholarship and teaching assistantship. In New York, he studied classical piano intensively with the master artist teacher, William Daghlian. Since 2012, Roger has played piano for the show “Sleep No More” in Manhattan. He has maintained a studio of piano and trumpet students for over 20 years.
