This camp is all about playing. Each day of camp is filled with ensemble rehearsals, masterclasses, workshops, jazz theory and performances. Students advance their skills playing several hours each day and working with our incredible jazz faculty in practice and performance. 

The core values of the BKCM Jazz program are creativity, improvisation and listening. Students who are new to jazz will build tools for improvising over simple chord changes, grooves and forms. Advanced students dive into challenging repertoire from the jazz canon and beyond. See below for more details on audition requirements.

On the final day of each week of camp, there will be a showcase at 1:30 PM in the BKCM Concert Hall.

How to Register

Registration for Summer 2026 opens in January. Fill out the Summer Camps Interest Form to receive notice as soon as registration opens! Once it is open, follow the steps below to apply.

• Step 1. Fill out the Jazz Camp Registration Form (closed until January 2026)
• Step 2. Prepare for your audition using the materials below. Please note that auditions are required.*
• Step 3. Look for an email from the Summer Camp Administrative Team

*BKCM Jazz Travelers students registered for the ’25–’26 school year program at BKCM are not required to audition but must fill out the registration form.

Summer Policies

• There are no refunds or credits for private lessons, camps or summer programs.
• All registrations for summer programs and camps are final and there are no withdrawals.
