Description
In this primer for our group instrumental classes, students explore music from around the world and experience a range of instruments from the winds, brass, strings and percussion families. Through hands-on demonstrations and visits from guest musicians, students learn how instruments work. Students are introduced to the piano, violin and guitar throughout the year, learning basic rhythms, musical patterns, notation and singing on pitch in preparation for group class and private lesson instruction.
Location
When registering for a class, lesson, or ensemble, please take note of the location. BKCM is expanding to a new location in the fall: One Prospect Park West, with an entrance at 963 President Street, and most of our Community Music School programming will be taking place at the new building, with some exceptions.
