Creativity, Improvisation, Listening.
These are the three core values of BKCM’s Summer Jazz Camp, and these values are exercised through joyfully rigorous practice and community-building. For each day of camp, students are immersed in ensemble rehearsals, masterclasses, workshops, jazz theory study and performances, under the creative direction of our incredible jazz faculty. Students who are new to jazz will build foundational tools for improvising over simple chord changes, grooves and forms. Students with greater depth of experience will dive into challenging repertoire from the broader jazz canon and beyond.
Open to winds, brass, percussion, piano, strings, voice, guitar and bass. Auditions are required. See below for more details.
