Key Hutchinson Presents: Exploration of Triplicities

Description

Saturday, April 26 • 7:30 PM • BKCM Concert Hall, 58 7th Ave, Brooklyn

Inspired by notable rock Trios in history ranging from the Jimi Hendrix Experience to Nirvana, Key strives to achieve a high level of sonic power and liberation within the boundary of a 3-person configuration. Her current project “Key Hutch” is a heavy hitting fusion-rock Trio featuring musicians Adriel Vincent-Brown on drums and Mwanzi Harriott on bass. “Exploration of Triplicities” is an experiment and expansion upon Key’s love and curiosity of groups of 3. The aim is to challenge and push boundaries on sounds generated from the limits of 3 people. “Exploration of Triplicities” will consist of 2 sets: Set 1 features djembe player/percussionist Mahiri Faïnké and trumpeter/electronic artist Samira Mendoza, and Set 2 will feature Key’s usual trio with Vincent-Brown and Harriott. Both iterations of trio performance are led by Key Hutchinson.
