School’s out! Let’s keep the music going!

Brass, Winds and Percussion combine in the Brooklyn Band Academy to make a joyous large ensemble sound. Open to students who play saxophone, clarinet, flute, trumpet, trombone, tuba and percussion, the Brooklyn Band Academy is ideal for students who are currently enrolled in a band program or private lessons with at least one year of experience. Students perform a wide variety of repertoire that includes standard wind band selections, pop, jazz and music from around the globe. Each day the students participate in a concert band, small wind ensembles and semi-private lessons. Throughout the week they also attend workshops on improvisation, composition and conducting.

Students who join the Brooklyn Band Academy should be able to play one major scale and have some experience reading basic notes and rhythms. To find out if the Brooklyn Band Academy is right for you please contact the community music school administrative team at cmsadmin@bkcm.org
