Project Description
Description
Flute ensemble will improve students’ sight reading, sound production and intonation. Students work on intermediate flute repertoire including classical, pop and jazz selections, and are encouraged to practice their ensemble repertoire outside of class. With each student playing their own part, young flute players strengthen their technique as well as their confidence. When flutes perform together and blend their sound, everyone in the group improves their tone production and advances their skills quickly.
Taught by a flute specialist, this ensemble supports students to participate in the Brooklyn Band Academy as well as their school band program. Students who join the flute ensemble should be able to play one major scale and have some experience reading basic notes and rhythms. To determine if are ready for the flute ensemble please contact the community music school administrative team at cmsadmin@bkcm.org
