Grand Opening Celebration: Weatherproof Edition

Sunday, October 11 • 10 AM-12 PM • Only at 963 President Street (No Parade from 58 7th)

🌧️ Due to Sunday’s forecast, we are moving our parade indoors and under tents! Instead of gathering at 58 7th Ave at 10 am and parading down Seventh Avenue, please come directly to BKCM Prospect Park West (963 President Street) for an Open House anytime between 10 and 12 pm.

The rain won’t stop the music! We’ll have live music including big-band music from Honk NYC and BKCM brass bands, bluegrass, dhol drumming, and West African percussion. We’ll also have coffee and donuts in the Community Space, a first look at the new Joel Foundation Concert Hall, and a chance to tour our studios and learn about all the music happening at BKCM Prospect Park West.

RSVP below to receive updates on the celebration and help us know how many people to expect, and email marketing@bkcm.org if you have any questions about tomorrow!

We are no longer parading down Seventh Ave, so just join us directly at 963 President Street!

  • 10 am: HONK NYC kicks off the music under the tent outside BKCM Prospect Park West
  • 10:30 am: Welcome remarks from BKCM’s Executive Director and officials
  • 10:40 am: Move inside the building for more music throughout the space, relax in the Community Space with coffee and donuts, and explore the new building at your leisure.

BKCM’s new campus is located on Grand Army Plaza, across from Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Public Library, with an entrance at 963 President Street.

BKCM Prospect Park West is home to 13 new music studios, a 1,450 sq. ft. performance hall, a large community gathering room, and the new BKCM Music Therapy Institute. With more space, we will be able to expand our music education and music therapy programs to thousands more people, both in Park Slope and across the five boroughs.
