Summer Private Lesson Registration and Information

Summer Session: July 7th to August 30th

Summer private lessons are available for every major instrument including voice! Drawing from a diverse faculty of world-class musicians and educators, we match each student to a teacher whose approach and experience fit their learning style. Our teachers work with each student and family to set goals and prepare an individualized curriculum based on students’ goals and interests. Summer lessons are available for all ages, and no audition or experience is required to begin lessons.**

**Current Suzuki Program Students please see Suzuki Summer Lesson policies. There are no Suzuki group classes during the summer session. 

Please contact the registration staff at 718-622-3300 to schedule lessons. Registration begins on April 16th. Registration is open throughout the summer.

Discount Packages*

  • Book 5 or more lessons to get a 10% discount 
  • Book 8 lessons to get a 15% discount

*Discounts cannot be combined and only apply at the time of registration. Discounts apply to one student only. Additional restrictions may apply.

Community Music School Private Lessons (3 lesson minimum)

  • Private 30 mins $89.50 per lesson 
  • Private 45 mins $104 per lesson
  • Private 60 mins $124 per lesson

SUZUKI Program Private Lessons

  • Private 30 mins $90 per lesson 
  • Private 45 mins $118.50 per lesson
  • Private 60 mins $140 per lesson
  • Private 75 mins $160 per lesson
  • Private 90 mins $177 per lesson


$45 Registration Fee. There is a registration fee charged upon registration. This fee is paid once per family per school year. 

There are no credits or refunds for private lessons or camps during the summer term. Students have until June 30th, 2024, at 4:30pm to request changes to existing summer registrations for private lessons and summer camps. After 4:30pm on June 30th, there are no refunds, credits or changes for private lessons or camps. 

Trial lessons are not available for the summer term. 

Current Suzuki program students should take lessons with their current private teacher. If their current teacher is unavailable, students may take lessons with a substitute Suzuki teacher within the Suzuki Program and should consult with their private teacher for recommendations, subject to availability. 

Suzuki beginners starting in the fall are not eligible for 2024 summer Suzuki lessons, but may sign up for summer SECE.

Students not currently enrolled in the BKCM Suzuki program may not take summer private lessons in Suzuki unless they have been accepted as a transfer to our program for the upcoming school year. 

Financial Aid is Available for qualifying students. 

There is no private lesson financial aid available for the summer semester for new students. We encourage you to apply for the 24-25 school year. Here is the application to apply for financial aid. 

Current Financial Aid recipients can email Current students must be pre-registered for the 24-25 school year in order to qualify for financial aid in the summer. Financial aid students are not eligible for summer lesson discounts.

Currently enrolled students do not need to re-apply for financial aid for summer camps, however they must send an email to confirm your registration. New camp students who would like to apply for financial aid may apply here. The deadline to apply for financial aid for all camps is 30 days prior to the start of camp.
